TODD FJELSTED > PRODUCTION DESIGN
Fjelsted's career began in the 90s southeast fine art scene, where his critically-lauded gallery works included painting, sculpture, and installation. After segueing into theater and commercial photography, he spent four years in multi-media as an art director for a VFX company. While moonlighting as an arts reviewer for The Independent Weekly in 2001, he wrote and directed the award-winning animated short The Firefly Man which premiered at Telluride and sold to The Sundance Channel. Fjelsted moved to Los Angeles in 2003 and has since designed over a dozen features, both streaming and network television, as well as several commercials, music videos, and short films.
His feature film designs have premiered at Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, and Tribeca -- and he's built character worlds for television series airing on Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and Starz. He has also been hired
to direct animation, music videos, and 2nd unit content.
In 2018, Fjelsted won both a Primetime Emmy Award and an Art Directors Guild Award for season one of comedy series GLOW. In 2019, he won a second Art Directors Guild Award for season two.
